What we do
We offer complete design and planning services coupled with exceptional attention to customer service emphasizing solid construction management from beginning to end. Our process is thorough and begins with the development of a detailed conceptual design followed by the production of construction drawings that will be necessary for estimating, H.O.A. approval, & permitting.
Our goal is to fully plan out your project with a comprehensive design so that our clients know what they’re getting. These plans will help avoid costly surprises, reduce change orders, and ultimately lead your project to a successful build.

Joshua S. Duncan Principal Officer & Designer
Joshua is an experienced designer with his BSLA in Landscape Architecture from Cal Poly Pomona as well as extensive coursework in landscape irrigation science and is a licensed general, landscape and pool contractor in both CA & NV. His experience includes all aspects of planning, design, and project supervision from the point of inquiry through project completion. Utilizing a creative approach to design that captures the client’s vision for their project, Joshua has the ability to make ideas come alive. He specializes in modern design, eco-friendly design concepts, sustainable construction, and professional master planning.
Matt Rodriguez Operations and Project Manager
Matt received his degree in Landscape Architecture from Cal Poly Pomona and brings landscape design and sales experience to the team in addition to field project supervision. He has extensive experience in field project oversight, subcontractor management, staff coordination, and team collaboration. Matt is an integral part of the design process, planning, execution, and completion of our projects and strives at providing constant communication and great customer experience. He is also a licensed Landscape Contractor and is our low voltage lighting technician.
Brian Maddock, PLA, SITES APLandscape Architect
Brian earned a BSLA in Landscape Architecture from Cal Poly Pomona and is a licensed Landscape Architect. Brian has an extensive portfolio in residential, municipal, and commercial projects from LA/Orange County to the greater area of Palm Springs. As a Landscape Architect, Brian has worked on a wide variety of construction and engineering projects from concept through to working drawings. He has past experience in project management, utilizing his knowledge of industry standards to mobilize crews and build a project from the ground up. Brian is able to address each project with his understanding of the construction process and how to best meet a client’s design criteria. Brian is also an Accredited Professional for SITES (Sustainable Landscape Certification Program) serving as a knowledgeable liaison for clients seeking certification with USGBC.
Scott Cheung Designer
Scott is a seasoned professional with over 20 years of design and project management experience overseeing numerous projects from start to finish. He has extensive experience specializing in master planned communities, residential and mixed-use designs. A flexible collaborator versed in the techniques and policies needed to take a project to completion. He is an effective communicator with strong organizational skills and demonstrated success in built projects. His interest in art, design and the love of the outdoors were major influences that lead him to choose landscape architecture as his lifetime career.
Ashley Fair Office Manager
Ashley is an experienced professional who brings over 15 years of administrative experience in Office Management, Accounting and Human Resources. She also brings an exceptional level of attention to detail, organizational skills, and leadership to her role as Office Manager. Ashley is an integral part of the CE team analyzing and optimizing operations with her financial and managerial background while maintaining a positive attitude and outlook.
Dan Vinyard Construction Superintendent
With over 30 years of general construction experience, Dan brings a wealth of knowledge to the team and has supervised the construction of many projects of varying size and complexity. He is a skilled carpenter/ framer, mason, tile installer, concrete finisher, and welder. His attention to detail in things that impact quality control enables clients to have a positive construction experience from beginning to end. He is also a licensed General Contractor.
Rick CarjeForeman
Rick is an accomplished professional offering 35 years of related concrete & masonry experience with special expertise in hardscape for pools & spa’ including shotcrete construction and concrete skatepark construction. He is adept at overseeing subcontractors, field laborers, and working effectively with clients to accomplish projects on-time and according to budget.
Steve Gill Pool Service Technician
Steve is our certified pool technician who has over 20 years of pool repair, design, construction, and maintenance experience. Repairs and troubleshooting are his specialties as well as a systematic method of swimming pool maintenance. All service technicians employed by Conscious Environments are under his direct tutelage and subscribe to his philosophy of prompt and courteous customer service. He is also a licensed Pool Contractor.
ByRon Gonzalez Skilled Artisan
Byron has been working as a skilled mason, tile setter, stone layer, & concrete finisher for 15 years and has been with us for 12 of those years. His desire to learn, hard work, and commitment to excellence has allowed him to become an amazing artist when it comes to hardscape construction. He has proven himself to be an excellent leader and works closely with field laborers to train and assure projects are completed to ours and our clients’ expectations.
We worked with Conscious Environments to re-develop our backyard and portions of our front. Their design work was excellent and provided us with a very creative look that was perfect for our entertainment needs. It definitely enhanced the value of our property. In addition, they provided a high quality of workmanship.
